just had a lengthy discussion with one one them since receiveing multiple calls every day. They always ask for my partners name but I usually answer the phone. It was the sydney number but the same people come up with an overseas number every now and then. Mainly with an Indian accent but sometimes Chinese. They tell you which address they are at, which is quite cute. They also speak quite old fashioned English. They say they work together with Telstra, who we are actually with but not sure if that's a hit and miss thing. Then they offer you a "cheaper plan" which is coming in the mail and you have ten days to object. Thus, if you don't received something, you can't object and your plan might change regardless. They even have a website. He introduced himself as brad Williams from Magnum Telecom- a sub-firm of Telstra, apparently. The website is also life under www.magnumtelecom.com.au and the plan is listed there. However, the small print is not of the usual complexity and doesn't make sense at times, e.g. you lose your email address you had with telstra, which doesn't make sense as they are supposedly with telstra...anyway. I told him what I think of them and that their way of operating is too obvious. After having spent 10 min with me on the phone, he was annoyed and hung up quickly. I am sure it's a scam, but it gets more and more sophisticated. By the way, it can be that multiple companies have the same phone number if they operate via the same )most likely Indian-based) call Centre...however, it is very unlikely that an established company such as Telstra or Optus would engage in such services. they previously offered me new electricity schemes, new phone or internet plans, also mobile contracts etc... will try to get the number blocked as it is extremely annoying!

Spent half an hour on hold while trying to deal with telstra today re broadband/homephone. Guess what, had a phone call from dodo this evening wanting to do great deals on broadband and homephone. The women at telsta had lovely english sounding names and lovley Mumbai sounding accents. So did the woman from DODO. When I told dodo woman I was on the do not call register she started to backpedal. I suspect the telstra Indians are doing soom moonlighting!

I have had a caller from this number call me today ask wanted to talk about the phone line. She asked me if I was Mrs *** and when I said yes she went on to talk about the phone line. I told her that i am not interested, she went to ask for my husband using his first name. And told me that I have no right to make the decision. To top it off she told me to shut up and hung up. I am so angry. Tried to call the number but it did not get through.

I just received a call from Nancy claiming to be from Magnum Telecom saying from next month my phone bill was being reduced then wanting my drivers licence number, or medicare number to verify who I was, I told her I wouldn't give out those details over the phone and she asked what could she do with my license number, then offered to give me hers. She was very persistant and kept asking, is there anyway of getting your phone carrier to block calls from this number?

Someone claiming to be Robert from Victoria calls me from this number. Makes no mention of any organisation but informs me that from next month I wont be paying for local calls. He sounds untrustworthy and couldnt handle it when he was challenged started repeating "shut up, shut up" He didntb even hang up when I shouted him out and called him all my favourite swear words. tried calling the number and its disconnected. How does that work?

I've had several arguments with this bogus company. they first started ringing me on my home (ex-directory) phone asking for Mr Large. Initially I thought it was my mates trying to wind me up. After several calls over a period of 6 weeks I finally had an argument with the overseas caller. In February of this year I began receiving calls at work (different county/phone number etc.) asking for Mr Large. Despite me asking them to remove my details from their database, I get 2 weeks before they call again. This afternoon's call, they claimed they are from Kingsbridge communications. This is harassment without question!!!!

Just had a call (02) 9191 6554) from a man claiming to be from a firm 24/7 computer repair, he said it was regarding my computer. I told him that I didn't have a computer and he hung up straight away without a word. Should have kept him talking perhaps just to waste a bit of his time!

Had a call from (02) 9191 6554 Wed 11 April 2012, 6.25 pm, an Asian man asked me to turn on computer as a virus had been downloaded. Told him I had no intention of doing so. He was really persistent, told me he had "authorisation" to TELL me to switch on. I started to have a bit of fun with him, wound him up, and eventually I put the phone down. Do these people think we are stupd!!!!!!!!!!!!!
