unknown number but this Sh*t is calling me from last week

Caller: Male deep voice

I answered and said ‘What do you want’
Deep foreign voice said ‘ You know what we want from you’

Same result - Rang it back. Got message saying “number you called is not connected” …scammer, spammer, or marketer - all the same category for me!

Don't answer unknown numbers. When I answered one, I was charged for a reverse charge call. I get these calls every day, not just this number. I only answer calls from my contact list.

We don't answer 'unknown' numbers if they don't leave a message, tough we're not calling back.

Was expecting a call & answered this - foreign accent, slow to answer, said was from my electricity company but raved on about comparing companies them give better option. Sounded fishy so I said not interested & hung up.
After reading others seems trying various themes to get personal info

"sam" from energy saver calling about my electricity bill. Indian call centre, and he knows my first and last name, called my mobile.

It appears to be a scam type call wanting you to call them back....

Absolute scammer. Heard the explicit computer connection, and honestly, am having a rough time so went off. The idiot on the other side tried to say it was being recorded, which they legally have to alert you to prior to any conversation. f*cking scammers.

Recorded voice message said "goodbye" and hung up after I said hello ...some type of scam ..block this numb3

Calls originate from the Central African Republic or Congo. If you answer the call Optus will charge you 50 cents for an overseas text message and you will end up in a long drawn out argument with your service provider over 50 cents. My guess is the scammers profit by people just paying it. I have blocked all international calls. This stopped them registering a phone call if answered however is does not stop them registering and charging you for a text message. The simple solution is not to answer the call.

It is very frustrating that this scam could most likely not occur without the cooperation of an OS service provider. It is in fact an abuse of our telecommunications service. Both Optus and Telstra are hosting thieves on behalf of their customers. I say 'hosting' because, Optus (and no doubt Telstra), claim they are powerless to stop it. If that is the case they are saying they do not have control over local phone numbers being issued and abused.

Caller: Electric complain

Indian accent lady called. Saying they are from something connect . It’s a power company that has been calling me over and over for the last 5 years. Always from indian, promising a better power rate but they want to know all your personal details. I have never gone that far after I give them my fake name or fake address Was from an 03 no. now it’s 02. Only answered because my work colleague said that was operations from my work but no it’s these people again. I keep saying go away I am not interested but yet they keep calling. They hang up on you when you say to stop calling. But no doubt they will call again.
