Caller: CN Select (SPAM) Pretended to be an energy comparison company called 'CN Select' to sign me up on a better energy plan. Got my drivers licence details, D.O.B, address & pretended they signed me up to another vic energy company, by sending me a text back with a pin code, as part of the fake sign up contract. Only realised they were dodgy afterwards. Man was very pushy. Didn't ask for bank details, but I gave them way to much info. Have placed a ban on my credit reports just in case of identity theft. The phone number when you try to ring back doesn't even connect. Nor does the company 'CN Select' exist either. Both are fake! Definitely SPAM caller.

They called for literally a second. Not enough time to even pick up the phone, then they disconnected.

Caller: Some idiot scammer I suspect that my contact details have been sold by or stolen from an energy supplier I recently switched to. This scammer was trying to tell me that I’d enquired about switching again. I assured him that I had not and asked if his life swindling old ladies is fulfilling before hanging up. Twat.

Caller: (02) 9170 4901 Energy Provider This number (02) 9170 4901 has been persistent in calling my mobile just about every other day for four weeks (14th December 2021 through until today, 12th January 2022). I think the name briefly displays as "Energy Veri...". My mobile rings once and the call then disconnects. I have only tried to call the number back once or twice and both times get a recording of nothing useful, so I hang up. I am now blocking this number after reading other useful comments below.

Caller: Lorraine Just got off the phone to this number:
Lorraine from ‘CN Select’, supposedly a third party to my current supplier, AGL. She knew my name and postcode but that is about it. She dribbled on about an energy saving deal and wanted my details to proceed. When asked for my email address i said ‘surely if you work with AGL you have it on record as i receive my billing and other info through there’. Again, some dribble about not holding details on record for security.
I was never going to get those 3mins back in my life so i provided a fake email address and hung up.
Scammer for sure. Don’t comply with their requests!

Caller: Lady called claimed to be from Energy Australia. They assured to give me discount 14% on electricity bills and 20% on Gas. Mistakenly i shared my passport details and unit details.
At end they asked for OTP, which i received from CNSELECT. Thumb rule is Don't share OTP with anyone. I asked them to call after 2 days.
Not sure how do they know my name ?

Called for two rings and I missed the call. They left a message on my voicemail which was no message at all (just silence). I called back many times and the phone does not answer but goes to an automated voicemail system stating the person is "unavailable" and to leave a message. Some sort of scam no doubt. I will block this number now.

Caller: (02) 9170 4900 Pretended to be an energy select company called CNSELECT. I didn't give them bank details but I gave too much info such as driver's licence and Pension details. I contacted Equifax.com.au/ban to put a ban on credit reports. When I contacted the police they said they are so busy that they only log details if you have lost money.
