Caller: Unsolicited Spam Caller Called my mother and asked for me by name. They said something about diabetes but they would not elaborate about the specific details of their reasons for calling me. When my mother said that they could leave their details and that I could get back to them, they then said that they do not have the ability to accept incoming calls.
If they are legit, then why make unsolicited contact for one thing? Plus, if they are legit, they would leave a clear and honest message identifying themselves and their real reasons for making the call. For another thing, why bug my mother about when I'll be available for them to call back? They repeatedly bugged my mother to tell them when I would be available, yet they would not elaborate about the true nature of their call.
Sounds dodgy to me, especially when I don't know them and thus they have no reason to make unsolicited contact with me.
I do not call back unsolicited calls: period! Nor do I answer incoming calls that I did not solicit in the first place. I imagine it is a call centre somewhere, quite possibly outside Australia.
