Caller: Evil thieves claiming to be from Paypal The people calling from (02) 9160 1449 are definitely scammers. They are total lieing thieves. How do I know this? I got a call from this number; it started with an automatied service saying a suspicious charge for $299 had been made to purchase iTunes cards; press 1 to cancel. I pressed 1. Then a guy with an Indian accent got on the line; he claimed he was from Paypal. He asked me to install an app called Quick Support which is actually from TeamViewer - I know what it does; TeamViewer is a legitimate app, but these guys are NOT legitimate. (TeamViewer allows people to access your phone remotely and control it; I already knew about TeamViewer; I use it at work, legitimately.) He said he wanted to show me how the charge got placed, but that is not true; Paypal would never access your phone to fiddle around with it, and the number, 02 9160 1449, is not Paypal's number! I refused to install TeamViewer and argued that he was a scammer until he hung up. I called the REAL Paypal number: (02) 8223 9500 and talked with them; they are aware of this scam, and advised me to complain at https://www.scamwatch.gov.au I called the evil number, 02 9160 1449 back, and they answered and had the audacity to claim they were from Paypal. When talking to these thieves, they will say things like, "We can prove we are from Paypal: you have an account with us, and you bank with the Commonwealth Bank." How did they know that? They didn't; you've got a better than 25% chance of being right when you say that to anybody in Australia. Don't give them any information. Don't confirm anything they tell you. The people calling from 02 9160 1449 are scammers, total lieing thieves. I hope they all get arrested and rot in jail for the rest of their lives.

Spam caller from Paypal like other reports, said there was a direct debit of $299 going to be coming out, could press 1 to confirm or could call back on number that I had received call from.
