Noticed a transaction from USA last night, today I get a message saying card has been blocked due to attempted transaction etc a Westpac fraud officer will call, this number called and %120 is not a scam, I was skeptical after I spoke to him so I rang westpac and it was legit. Just google the number, it comes up as Westpac or St George fraud team.

Anyone reporting this Westpac number as a scam, it is NOT! Call Westpac yourself and ask if they called you and confirm the number with them before getting online posting false information. I have checked with Westpac by calling 132032 and it is all true.

No it's not a scam. It's the bank fraud team calling you to try and tell you about attempted fraudulant activity on your credit card! Just call this number back and listen to the recorded message. Anyone who thinks this is a scam is not very bright.

WESTPAC email saying unauthorised transaction on credit card. If okay then do nothing. Did nothing received a further email regarding another transaction. If I don't respond yes all okay. If I don't respond they will block the card which has been done. Completely lost about what to do.

It’s 100% not scam. At first I I thought it’s fraud but apparently they had send me a message saying there is unauthorised payment going through my card. They re-issues new card to avoid unauthorised transactions . It was from Westpac Fraud, Scam alert department

Assuming the number is not spoofed, it is NOT a scam caller. It is legitimate. I had identity compromised 5 years ago and now they are using the data, I had them flag my ID to call me for any new accounts from Bank of Melb, Stgeorge, and Westpac (same group) and they called me to advise of an account they flagged against my name opened on boxing day, they called me the day after and told me the card will likely still come, which it did.

They were able to identify themselves based on the information from the previous report I made, so 100% legitimate.

Definitely legit. Westpac calling regarding a transaction I made for some crypto - warning of the risks. Happy to receive the call (I answered the 3rd time they called) and while in this instance unnecessary, it was appreciated

I called my Bank (St George/Westpac) and confirmed the call I missed from this number is indeed the Fraud Department wanting to alert me to a suspected fraud!

Received a message claiming they were from st george bank and my card was blocked due to suspicious purchase then another call later. message left on voicemail which sounded very unprofessional, Irish guy talking really quickly and he said to give him a call back etc. I could hear someone trying to hold back laughter in the background. I would recommend calling your bank from the official number to confirm before proceeding as it seems that they may be fraudsters that have stolen info. I wouldn't trust any other comment on this page claiming the contrary.

This is not a scam. It's Westpac disputes/CC fraud team.
They called to resolve a dispute that I had from a merchant charging my credit card. The only personal information I had to give was my first name, but once I talked to the guy calling, I knew they were legitimate because I knew I had open disputes waiting to be resolved with the bank.

They said they are calling from St George bank and validate whether I really issued a cheque, so they asked my personal information. It's really suspecious, so I ask her to leave down her contact no which she quoted 1800 061 547. This a IVR number claimed to be under Westpac. In order to verify the truth, I have directly called to St George bank's OFFICIAL hotline 133322. Finally, they said there is no problem on my cheque issued and asked me to ignore those SCAM. I am only curious why they knew immedidately after I issued the cheque yesterday, it didn't look like an coincidence. Did someone from Bank disclose my information to SCAM organization ?

Got message last night from St.George saying someone tried to use my card. Called and cancelled my card. This is not a scam. They didn't ask me for any information as they already knew my name.
