These calls are manufacturing so much negative sentiment, racism wil certainly be on the rise.
Not my fault ppl are desperate and struggling. It was there choice to overpopulate via personal decisions to breed.
So stop calling me ,get a life and leave ppl alone. As to the pathetic govts 'don not call register' they can block these calls but choose not to.They can filter your internet so the tech to block nuisance calls is easy to address. They choose not to.I'm glad India opted out of the free trade deal because their nation is the number one toxic call centre harassment centre. We should demand they end the trolling by phone industry or tell them to get their mineral resources somewhere else.Pretty sure they are desperate for the uranium we have, so there it is.Stop the calls or lose out on an energy supply.Sounds fair to me

The same old scammers from India. With caller ID I answer in another language just to confuse them. They give up in total frustration after a while.

Usual telemarketing/scammer call. Tried to advise caller to change employment as they were working for a business that is operating illegally. Possibly an Australian company that thinks they can bypass the Do Not Call register by using an overseas call centre. Why can't our telecommunications authority track where these calls originate and at least stop them if not report them to the authorities in the country of origin. It gives the country of origin a really bad name.

Caller: Caller in this instance was from an Indian call centre.

The message on a phone could say that calls whose phone numbers are recognisable from a list of contacts will be answered. Other genuine callers could leave a message identifying themselves and purpose and ask to be called back.
Scammers prey on those who still use a landline as a choice. I am one of elderly users who cannot understand foreign accents and resent the intrusion of unwanted callers because of this and the arthritic effort getting to the phone location for conniving scammers.
A permanent solution is urgent as these practices are preying on us all and illegally in my opinion. Called stalking perhaps?

Caller: Indian subcontinentium said his name was Ben

the gist of his spiel that he was concerned if i was the person responsible for telephone account changes tonight 9th Dec 2019 on a business landline , suspect, I asked if he was recording - he confirmed it was the case. I told him that it was illegal to do so without FIRST advising the person he was calling of what he was doing. This practice turns a conversation into a contract to change providers to his company without you realising in some cases

I then told him i was not going to deal with him and said goodbye.

I then got a silent call back from this number

Said he could get me a discount on my landline bill. Knew my name and address. When I asked him who he is working for, he said Southern Phone. This is the fifth call in 3 days, but the first time I answered it, as I was sitting next to the phone. Persistent, even when I said I wasn't interested, so I hung up on him.

Caller: Indian scammers

They currently call 4-5 times per day. I do not pick up any more since I got the caller ID thing. They always want to check my bank details. They said they were from my bank and when I asked them which bank that was -- they said the wrong one and one that I have never banked with. They kept asking for my personal info ('to check my account')
and hung up when I said that if they were from my bank, they already had those details, since my card and account were with them.

Caller: Claimed to be a telecoms service provider based in NSW - sub continent accent

Initial robocalled and I called back....i must bored....interesting the time displayed on my phone showed that the called was made at 23:31 hrs, which puts the origin of the call in California relative to my time zone.

The person wanted to get my phone billing details to offer me a better price, he was politely advised to go forth and multiply...

This number is obviously a scam. Ring at least twice a day! So annoying I don't answer my phone anymore. :(
