Called number back & it has been disconnected! Most likely scam.

same story for me, called number again and said 'The number you have called has been disconnected.'

Received multiple calls with similar numbers starting 02 9099 xxxx

Caller: Asian sounding women

I must be on all the lists that exist in the world as I received unknown calls to my mobile at least multiple times a week, sometimes daily, sometimes 3 time in one day, 3 days in a row then nothing for a few days. I've found that the beginning of the number will sometimes be the same for a week or so and then change to something else but always have an Australian area code. I stopped answering all unknown numbers over a year ago but it hasn't made any difference to the amount of calls I get, and they never leave a message, or if they do it's just he background noise of the call centre. Recently however this exact number called 3 times in the one day (02) 9099 6441 and on the last attempt left a msg of "Hello..... Hello?.... Hello?" (and took a long 13 secs to do so before hanging up... I guess she was trying to reach her minute quota for the day, poor thing, I don't envy anyone who has to do that for a living) and I could hear it was an extremely busy call centre in the back ground.
I've had 4 different other calls starting with the same 02 9099 ... one literally as I'm writing this! who has let it go to msg bank, didn't say a word, but let the call go on for 33 seconds! seriously so frustrating!
While I'm at it, Other numbers I've had are this month are 02 7235, 03 8691, 03 8527
