Caller: Claimed to be from NBN

Caller told me they wanted to upgrade my NBN internet speed - asked me to run a speed test on my laptop ... I told them they were trying to scam me and asked him for his name ... He said his name was Alex Wilson ... very strange name for someone with a very heavy Indian accent ! Told him he wanted to steal my money and then he hung up on me !
This is a SCAM .

Said they were calling from banking security and that there had been a transaction in the US. That he could stop it straight away. Hung up when I said I’d go to the bank as I was already in the shopping centre.

Said was calling from Amazon and I just hung up. I assume that it would have said something alarming about "my account" and asked me to press '1' to speak with someone.

If only legitimate phone systems had an option to just press one number to speak with an actual person...

Caller: Claimed to be from Telstra

I just got a call saying they were from Telstra and that I was eligible for an upgrade to the iPhone 16 or whatever the latest iPhone is. As soon as I said I am not with Telstra they told me one of my email addresses and I again said I’m not with Telstra and he said hold on a minute. I said this sis a scam and hung up.
