Caller: Scammer claimed to be etel

Claimed to be from etel, which is an Optus reseller. Requested that I converse in Mandarin. Had my full name and contact no. Claimed that I have bought a SIM from them and blah blah blah.. something illegal and now ACMA is investigating. I said, ACMA should call me directly, line was bad and he sensed I wasn't falling for it and hung up. I called the number back and heard automated voice saying the number isn't connected. Definitely a scam.

Claimed I have another Australian mobile phone that was using to make harassment calls. Also claimed I applied for it with my passport.

Caller: claim to be etel

Claimed my mobile phone was listed as emergency contact for another Australia mobile phone which was using in China to make harassment call. Ask me to report to China police and board control. It is hard to tell initially it was a scam call. The guy gave his number, ID and name as saying he would help me to report to ACMA if I stayed on the line to answer questions.

scammer. (02) 9067 8858 and (02) 8268 1213. waste of time. Block them.
