I received a call at 7.10am today on my home phone and it stopped after two rings (my phone didn't record a number), then my mobile phone rang and it stopped after a couple of rings (it recorded the received call as (02) 9037 0000)and then it rang again and when I picked it up it hung up... (it recorded the received call as "Anonymous"... I phoned the number and got the same as other callers above... an english voice asking me to press 1 if I wanted English... I did't press it and hung up.How can we find out what this phone call is actually achieving for the caller and whether we are somehow being ripped off financially?

I wonder if this has anything to do with the IQ test scam that I was tricked into last month. I got 4 SMS messages and got charged $6.60 each time without my knowledge. Lucky I checked my account and eventually got my money back from Virginmobile, but only after I complained to the Ombudsman.

I got a call from this number asking to speak to the purchasing officer and said she was from Singapore. I just said i was and she hung up on me. This stupid calls are driving me up the wall.

I got a missed call from this number and when i called it back it asked what language i wanted to used and i pin number. Strange. Was just wondering who it was from...

I just missed two calls from this number one call after the other, when i called back i got the same as everyone else, select language and enter pin. I found it so strange as i just got this mobile number 3 days ago and only 5 or 6 people have this number, but now that i think about it my mum has this number and shes overseas at the moment so maybe she was trying to call to tell me she landed. thats the conclusion to my story i guess.
