I got a strange call to my mobile this morning, the person said that he was calling from Optus, this call is regarding 000 and Emergency service update, so he needed my personal detail.I hung up line directly, but I want to know wether Optus really call customer like that?Did you get this call as well?The number shown on the mobile is: (02) 9027 8100

I received a call from this exact number around a week ago, the person on the other end claimed to be from Optus (he wanted to confirm date of birth, address etc)
I politely ended the call and spoke to an Optus customer service rep who did confirm that they were "updating their systems" and where having to check some customer accounts for errors!
