I called back number (02) 9015 3806 reached IVR for Vodafone. I answered, but no-one spoke back. Caller: Vodafone
Picked up and took a while to answer back. Vodafone Offering new plan, didn’t feel safe giving details over the phone. Told them I would go in store
Caller: Maybe Vodafon
Asked for my 4 digit pin straight away. A reputational problem, as caller had an Indian accent. If companies are legit, they should know by now the consequences of an Indian accent.
Answered the call, received high pitched screech, so I hung up They’ve tried to call me 5 times in the last day Caller: Said they were from Vodafone.
Called offering deals, and asked for my pin.
I said I would call Vodafone.
Caller: I don't know
glad of these reports -- I don't pick up numbers I don't know these days -- I'll check in their shop
Unknown Caller: Don't know
Called me twice in consecutive days. When I answered a silence. I did not speak again as I suspected a robocall. I have now blocked the number. Thanks to the forum for identifying this number as an issue.
I looked it up its one of vodafones contact numbers it is listed on their website its for new offers to their Vodafone customers Caller: desmond linley hay
person just called me, difficult to hear desmond linley hay trying to sell antiques over the telephone, called back several times, very pushy and rude
Caller: (02) 9015 3806
This number has rang 2 days in a row. When you answer they hang up!
When I picked up and said hello there was complete silence, but when I listened really carefully I could smell bad breath. Missed call. Reading the comments it's a Vodafone number. I'm skeptical. Pretty sure some scammers know how to make it look like a different number calling. Would voda really ask for your pin? If I ever picked up calls I don't recognise (which I don't). I would hang up and verify with voda myself if I was interested, looking up a number for them for myself too. Really can't be too careful of all these scammers around. Answered call and received beep/screech plus a lag in time. They asked for me so without identifying myself I asked who was calling, she identified as calling from Vodaphone, to offer me a bundling offer. When I said we had already done that in the last month, she backed off quickly and we ended the call mutually. Never did confirm that I was who she asked for, but surely she would be able to see what plan I was on if she was actually from Vodaphone. Caller: Vodafone
