Caller: Scammer Scammers have spoofed HSBCs phone number. Will pretend to be the fraud department and try to get you to read out your security code to logon to internet banking. Definitely do not do that.

Be very careful with this number the (02) 9005 8220 is actually HSBC but check the area code i got a call from (03) 9005 8220. They will make you think it's HSBC and tell you to check the number on the back of your card which will match all but one digit in the hopes you fall for it and give over your whole credit card details expiry and 3 digit on the back.

I had this happen to me successfully on Saturday - it's best to hang up and call the bank yourself or use some other method to prove it's actually the bank calling you

Caller: (02) 9005 8220 Received a call from British Speaking men, they pretended to be from the HSBC Scam Department. They ask for your ID Bank Login and Security code number. I declined and was pushed to a supervisor who was also a scammer. In the end i hung up to only recieved another call from them with a different scam situation. I called the real HSBC number and they advised it was a scam call and that they had spoofed their number. There was a 1 second audio delay in the call despite them saying they were from Victoria. SCAM Call and a very sofisticted one. Glad i didnt fall for it

Caller: Possible scammer Looked up this number and it belongs to HSBC. I don’t have any accounts with them so I suspect this could be a scam phone call

Caller: HSBC for once this is a genuine call. I have a HSBC account and called their number 1300 306 543, I think that they have had a breach.
