I worked for 5 shifts in a charity call centre, possibly this one. Numbers are automated - the worker has no control on who is dialed. The charities are for a good cause, but if it is the same call centre I worked for, the conditions are horrific and very poor money unless you are good at convincing people to pay on credit card for the day. It's the only job I've been sacked from. The workers were all very nice though, just trying to earn some money while at uni or waiting for a better job.

Yeah, the dill brain just rings and hangs up. What is the damned point of that, apart from just completely annoying the absolute crap out of me, which they excelled in doing admirably, because I was right in the middle of sleeping...I mean working my butt off trying to get the days' database entries in order and whammo...the mobile rings. I am entirely stressed to the max as it is, because I am waiting upon a phone call from my wife who is in turn waiting upon news re her best friend's cancer report which we (between you and me) doesn't sound so good. So, in the middle of all these stresses, some dim witted dillberry decided they are so bored with life they would like to phone my mobile...not to talk, mind you, just for the thrill of ringing it, and then, promptly hanging up before I even get a chance to say "city morgue..." Sheesh! As if life isn't hard enough already....
I think I need a beer after that.

They hung up on me too. I strongly suspect the computer algorithm used to determine if there is a person on the end of the call is faulty (ie. badly adjusted settings for Australian telephone lines or some such), either that, or it's some kind of computer marketing system trying to work out what time of day you will answer the phone.

I get these on my mobile as well ... I've set this number to "automatically reject call". Being on the DNC register is irrelevant, charities are exempt - they can and will call you! But if I ever do answer one from these charity call centres, I tell them "righto, yours is one more charity to which I will NEVER donate again, EVER".

Same as other callers - rang my mobile but only for two rings before hanging up and didn't leave a message. Blocked

They hang up hoping you'll call them back and pay for the call.

They've been trying to call me for the past two days around the after school period but I auto-reject.

Same as others. The call just hangs up. Simple solution is add to your auto reject list.

Registered charities such as this are allowed to call you even if you are on the "Do Not Call Register".
