Have been receiving missed calls from this number for about a week, every second day. i dont pick up as i dont recognise the number. its nice to see that the DONT CALL register is "working"......not

I got call from (02) 8988 7183 yesterday 2009-06-25 1.11 pm to my mobile.
He claimed himself as David or something and said that he is calling from HSBC visa card.

He asked for my name.
He started to tell me about insurance for credit balance or something that I really cannot understand.
So I said I don't say yest or no about something that I do not know or understand over the telephone and send me a written paper.
Then he said "OK, I leave it to you".
I reported to HSBC but their customer service is really not good. I was expecting them to call me back on Monday  about the inquiry I made last Friday so I first thought it was that, But totally different. And of course HSBC did not call back.

I too have been a constant target for phone numbers (02) 8988 7183 and (02) 8988 5084.  I recognise the number straight away (because they've rung so often) and I don't bother answering.  For a while I was getting a phone call EVERY WEEKDAY for weeks on end, then it stopped, but it has started up again over the past 10 days - drives me fricken insane.  You'd think they'd give up at some point...!  Anyway, I have added my name to the DO NOT CALL register just now, so we'll see how well that works.
