couldnt provide billing account number. didnt know my name just my mobile number. der that was the one they called.
im on prepaid. there is no bill.
telstra doesnt give out discounts of 30% seriously.

Caller: Female with Indian accent purporting to be from "Telstra billing department"

She said I was lucky to be chosen for a promotion offering 40% discount on my mobile phone account. All she wanted was for me to tell her my full name to verify that I was the account owner. I said she called me so she can just send me the information! After 15 minutes of wrangling with her (she was getting quite agitated with me) she finally gave up so I missed out on this fabulous offer! I notice others on this were only offered 20-30% discounts - I should call her back and ask if the 40% is still available!!!!!! lol

Same story for me - I'm not on Telstra. Indian girl claiming she was from Telstra billing dept and hung up quickly once I questioned her reason for calling.

Exact the same to me, seems scam as I am not using Telstra
