So apparently if u call 000 now, ur information is passed on to these ppl to sell ya 79.95 teddy bear, of which, btw, u don’t have to pay for until 4 weeks later! She spun me a story about how 000 is a free service & this is how they ‘support’ this service.... really? Because I got a pretty substantial bill from SA Abulance Services!
IF this is true, I think it’s disgusting our personal information is being released from such services

This isn't a charity. It is a commercial company (making profits) by collecting donations on behalf of a charity. They shouldn't be allowed to call people on the DO NOT CALL register.

Two months later and they are back calling me again. So much for asking them to never call me back. Please note - this isn't the charity calling - it is a telemarketing group calling on behalf of the charity. They are making money from the donations. If you donate to them, you are wasting your money - only about 10% of it makes it to the charity.

Also, it is impossible to contact these people. If you call back you get a recorded message and they don't tell you who they are, just that they are calling for a charity.

I think you've been given false information about 000 calls. ESTA are not permitted to disclose any details about 000 calls they receive. If the charity callers are claiming this, they are trying to justify their calls. A lot of them are now using computer programs to generate calls, thus bypassing the Do Not Call Register, hence why you will get a spate of calls from the same charity using different numbers. You block one, they call from a different number.

Caller said she was calling from Careflight Australia, she was selling bears (a married couple) at a cost of $79 each or something, and all but $15 was tax deductible. When I asked why I couldn't see them on the website I was told they were so new they weren't on there yet (told me a full on back story to the bears), and I said I'd wait until I could see a pic of them and I'd buy them online through Careflight and was told if I purchase through the website I wasn't able to get a tax deduction at all...total bull...

Re Julie's comment 'if u call 000 now, ur information is passed on...' - If this is truly the case, I'm very unhappy with it. I recently called 000 in mid August '18 and again in early Sept '18 for my mum from her ph. Mid Oct started getting these missed calls on mum's ph and early Nov '18 still getting them. Very upsetting if true, mum passed early Sept '18. Maybe I'll answer and get their details and take it from there. Disappointing.

Keep getting numerous unknown calls from this number & many others, hear people talking in background once when l opened phone, l hung up immediately, sick of it. Tried blocking numbers on phone, no help there. Like to know how these scammers get everyone's private unlisted phone numbers no matter if landline or mobile.. Do not call register is a joke.

These calls are really persistent. I blocked them on my mobile, but the log of when they try to call still shows up. They called again a few days ago, then again yesterday afternoon, then once more this morning. This time I rang back and followed the instructions of the automated message to put mobile number in if I didn't want any more calls. No idea whether that will work. They are an actual charity but it seems like an odd way for a charity to operate. Anyway, hopefully that's it!

They either don't leave messages, or they trigger your voicemail recording and leave a split second of weird-a** audio and hang up. Creepy weirdos calling, no idea who these cretins are but what they're doing is illegal, immoral and an abuse of the telecommunications services. People conducting themselves in these ways should be banged up in the clink indefinitely until they learn how to properly use telecoms. I've said it once and I'll say it 1,000 times. When Telstra was Telecom Australia and government-owned, if someone harassed/threatened/made nuisance stalky repeated calls to you, even repeated creepy silent hang up calls via fixed phone (not that many people had mobiles in those times), you would call Telecom, report it and they would put a trace on your line and monitor it for you. If that someone called you again, they would catch out the perp, they would be able to pinpoint the origin of the call and they would call them and give them a stern warning to stop their conduct or they would be reported to the cops and prosecuted. It worked every time, it stopped the behaviour. In other words, customers of Telecom Australia were PROTECTED as well as RESPECTED. This should be the case for mobile phone account holders too, especially law abiding ones who are minding their own bizzo and working hard and paying bills and taxes. Bring back those days of early 1990s and RESPECT telecommunications and all customers. Don't get me started on use of the internet. I'll try and put this comment in for each and every number that I end up blocking. These spam warning services are about the only we can collectively best these modern day pests and fight back against this wasteful and immoral conduct. Block these numbers.

I am getting multiple calls a day, from this number. But if I get calls to my mobile that are not on my contact list I won't answer. That can be a problem when one of mums doctors calls from another extension in the hosp. I did ask them to please call the home phone and leave a msg and I will call right back as I get a huge number of these scam calls. There has to be something we can do about it.I am so tired about this. They know your full name, number details, and get into a conversation, before you can get off the phone. Not only when I expecting a call, like medical ones, but also contractors. So they keep calling back. Why do you have to be rude.
