Got a call from this number, a woman asked me my name and I confirmed it was, then she hung up.

I have now registered with DNCR.

Bezz It's a bit hard to do that when all they do is call and hang up. Again and again and again......

3 calls in 15 mins, they is no one there when you answer. so over it..

The people behind this number keep calling, at all times of the day, evening and weekends and they NEVER leave a message but keep trying. How do you stop them from calling!!!

I just had the same experience as Brett. So now they have confirmation of my name, will they stop calling & hanging up when I answer (happens 2-3 times a week, last night 4 times!)?

They just called me and I was busy so sent the call to message they left a message and called back, sent to message again and they left another - To note each time they do not say who they are. I rang the number back and says from modern where I need to leave a message - no way would I ever use them after years of these type of calls I wish they would just buzz away. Talk about bad customer service.

The call just hangs up when answered. It is very time wasting and frustrating. It drives me mad!

it's a call centre for companies such as the Modern Group, who phone every couple months, with typically two calls within the same week. Give them a false name and address and tell them you just given the new phone number last week, so as to get your "real" name out of their database.

for some reason this number keeps ringing me about a minute after i get home from work atleast 2-3 times a week. Dont bother calling back as they will not answer

I got a call every few hours from this number plus faxes too. So annoying. Don't tell them anything. When you do get them on the line just leave them on hold.

I received 2 calls from that number today, one on the land line the other on my mobile.So I rang the number back and it rang out. Why call people in the first place and not leave amessage or not answer when you ring them back? Sounds doggy to me!!

I received a call from this number today and when i answered a woman said hello can i speak to... and hung up she didnt even ask for anyone..would anyone know who these people are i called back and no one answered.

Is there a lawyer amongst us? Someone needs to be prosecuted for invasion of privacy. It seems to me that it could be proven that modern roofing are profiting from passing our private details on for a price to data solutions. This is illegal. How do we make an example of these people and shake the privacy scammers of the world...well ok, lets start with australia.

I've received three calls from (02) 8818 2377 within the last two days (sounds like it must be the Modern group judging from the previous posts), and I have also received calls from them previously. I have no association with this company (as in I have never called them or done business with them previously), so many of you can relate to how annoying it is when they call repeatedly, and in my case, also at strange hours.What is scary is that when I first received a call from 0288182377 in approximately Nov 2009, I answered it and the guy on the other end of the line said some vile stuff (which I won't repeat here). I initially thought is was a prank call, and I listed the the number 0288182377 as 'Prank' on my phone so that I wouldn't answer the phone and be 'pranked' by them again when they called. At the time I believe I Googled the number but no info came up.Not until recently have I received frequent calls from them. At first I thought it was just the stupid prank caller, but the more they called the more I became suspicious. So I Googled the number again and I landed on this page. I'm relieved to know who the culprits are. I have taken the advice from previous posts and have registered with the DNCR. I've listed the Call Type as Prank Call below, because that was my experience when I answered them that first time, even though the experiences from the others on this site have been more telemarketer-based.
