Just got the Your Computer is Blocked " message. (13 May 2021) Pressed Alt, Control, Delete and rebooted. Then googled Microsoft to get their real numbers. (02) 8660 1377 IS A SCAMERS NUMBER. REBOOT ASAP .

They claimed Microsoft and also got into my computer and bank account. ACCC - IDCARE was extremely helpful and they strongly recommend reporting all of these incidents

SCAM, he said my computer had been hacked. Everything looked so legit and he was very, very convincing that he was from Microsoft. I did not realise he had taken control of my computer- said I was entitled to a $160 refund (Anti-Virus credit) immediate transfer of $16K appeared in my a/c, which he wanted refunded, saying I had made the error and I must go to bank immediately, withdraw cash and then go to another bank (prefer National) and bank the cash (he would stay on the phone while I carry out both actions and do not tell anyone for legal reasons. I ended the call, went to my bank who identified that he had transferred the $16K from another of my accounts - One feels so stupid – thank goodness I did not lose any money. Unfortunately, I am now worried about Identity theft. The other number used was (02) 8667 2023825

Scam - I went way far before realizing. They login to your computer, use cmd prompt and state hackers have established connection via ip addresses displayed. Then want you to log into each of your bank accounts. That's when I stopped.

Caller: website trying to fake microsoft security popups

the site has audible alarm and recurring message warning that your computer has been blocked and to call for support. This is the number they give.
Fake Windows SmartScreen message lists this number to call.

Page appeared on screen whilst conducting a search claiming they were Microsoft Security and telling me that an attempt at Identity Theft had been detected, resulting in my computer being 'locked up'. I was instructed to contact Microsoft Security (Phone # (02) 8660 1377) who supposedly would resolve the situation. I rang the number and when I asked the responder to prove to me that I was actually talking to Microsoft she got fairly aggressive. Definitely a scam! Close the page using the toolbar and run virus and adware checks.

Its definitely a scam. Our pc locked up today implying we needed technical support. I'll called the number provided which is live number where a person did answer. I am scanning my pc but nothing sinister found so far and my files don't appear to be encrypted. Not sure what would happen if you actually spoke to the person, I'm guessing they would of gone for remote access to my computer which could of then lead to them asking for credit card details. Its definitely a scam.

My wife has her computer blocked by this scamming group. The number is on screen pretending to be Google etc. What a pain. Ransom ? Probably. Off to the cleaners tomorrow.
