they also use private numbers and this number (02) 8098 8500 they called me 9:37 am 9:38am 9:39am 11:41am 11:42am and 12:14pm

I keep getting these calls too, I wish that I could trace where they are coming from, I would go and pay them a nice visit... I think that would help everyone on here out ;)

I am getting harassed by this number as well. No one answers and when I dial it, it says it isnt connected. I know I certainly have better things to do than have hang up phone calls by a supposedly professional financial institution.
I intend to lodge a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service and recommend everyone having the problem does too.

Yes it is a scam number. Do not answer! Give info etc.

They rang my Mum's Mobile. Answered and the person on the other end said their name and that they were from Citibank than hung up. We both tried calling the number back on different phones but received 'this number is disconnected' message. We do have a cc through a company owned by Citibank but they have always called direct and used their company name when introducing themselves. Pretty sure this number is what is called a routing number. A fake number that looks real that scammers use. DO NOT ANSWER OR GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE.

Citibank work on behalf of lots of companies- Suncorp etc. They'll say you have a late payment and ask when you'll pay. Do answer or pay your credit card or they sell your debt to a 3rd party

Im harassed everyday by this number, even though Im not owed anything on their damn card. I've attempted on several occasion to cancel the card, and have received long wait
on the phone.

If it is Citibank why does no one answer when you pick up. And when you ring back the number does not even ring -ie dead sound. I am getting over five a day over the last tow weeks.

It is Citibank. I work in a bank & I know majority of financial institutions use Citibank to issue their credit cards. You may have credit card with a bank & it has that bank logo on it but citibank owns that facilty. So you should probably answer the phone call, this number is for arrears in your credit card repayments. If you ignore them, they won't go away until you pay your bill.

Getting calls from this number on both my mobile call back and it's not connected

They rang this morning it went thru to message bank and OMG I thought they have left a message. Heavy breathing and singing not sure the call centre operator realised the voicemal picked it up. From the comments below it looks like it was Citibank I have never had them answer when I pickup.

I phoned Virgin Money directly and they checked their phone listings. No such number for them. It's a SCAM! Don't answer, don't call back. Block caller. Virgin money also confirmed that if they contact customers they definitely leave a voice mail message.

I've had numerous clls from this number for the last few days. I don't have any accounst with Citibank?

Rung at work on company mobile by this number saying my CC payment was due on the 12th which was correct and asked if I'd like to make the payment of $30 straight away and they would assist me. Began to smell a RAT and said NO. Then asked when I would be making the payment, smelt a BIG RAT & hung up.
