Missed call. When I tried to call back I got a Telstra recorded message saying the number is disconnected.

I received three calls from this number today. I missed two of them. The third one I answered and the guy said hello to me about four times in a row, like he couldn't hear me, then hung up. When I returned the call, Optus advised the number is disconnected. I have now blocked this number.

Answered the call and after a second they hung up.

Missed call, no message & no idea what they wanted.

Yes I just got another call but I didn't answer. It is so dodgy.

I just missed 2 calls from this number 11.30 nsw time- tried calling back "Optus informs this number disconnected."
WTH?

This might be an inside job from someone working for Optus. I only just got my phone number in January and have barely given it to anyone yet as my old phone number is still active and I'm still using that one.

A guy with a slight accent, maybe Indian, called from what sounded slightly like a call centre.
Ask for me by my full name, and my phone number (which they called) and even my address. I thought that it was weird that he just spilled out my personal details to me just because I said, "Yes, this is she."
Then he asked me to state my date of birth, even though he was the one that called me.

Stated that the call could be recorded as they do as a standard in call centres.. then asked about my experience with Optus. I told them I didn't have time as I was at work and tried to end the conversation. They tried to hang on the line for a while after that as though trying to cram in a few quick queries.

Very strange! Don't give them any details.

Again, Ramg & hung up, disconnected number when you call back. Must be something the telecommunications ombudsman must be onto by now
