This 100% a Scam call!! Same stories as above! Claiming to be the Australian Tax Office & then ask for my home number but they called a business phone & when I tell them that they hang up!!!

I had a call yesterday and tonight from James Anderson about tax evasion and an arrest warrant etc. Same as the stories before me.

Report it on Acorn site guys. That's what we just did. Got the same jerks on the phone

I have received 2 calls telling to ring back this number, I don't think the number it came in on was the same; I'll try and check that when the next one comes in! My guy's name was James Anderson. I reported to ATO on 13/9. Couldn't pick the accent, but I think it was mild Indian accent.

I have had the same message's. It started 3months ago the first call he didn't leave a name so I rang back the number every time I did I just hung up so I rang the tax department 13# in regards to what it was about they had no knowledge of any thing so I replayed the message that was left. The gentlemen I spoke to said it was a scam and put me straight threw to the fraud line they had a lot of people ringing in regards to it. Since then I have had 7 other calls from the same person leaving both names Jason and James but it is the same voice. I received a call this morning saying I now have a warrant out for my arrest these piece of sh*ts have a very boring life. Lmfao

What joke , why doesn't the ATO, police , any Gov agency shut down this number
By not doing it they are allowing these idiots to call

Got a similar message on my answering service. Apparently, an 'unbailable warrant of arrest' has been issued and that I should call back.

same my receptionist took a message to call James Anderson ATO (02) 8607 8228 about Tax Information. Called back and asked if he could direct me to a publicly advertised phone number on the ATO website so I could call him back... HE HUNG UP :-) How rude...

I received 5 messages on my answering machine from Jason O'Connor, rang him back and gave him a mouthful. What a twot!

Got the same call from this guy - Seemed phony to me too. Will be reporting to the ACCC

Got 2 a call from (02) 8607 8228 from a 'Jason O'Conner' from the 'Australian Tax Office' saying there was a case against 'me' (no name used) for tax evasion being taken to the supreme court and the police would be arriving at my residence to issue a warrant and to please call back.
