The most annoyingest thing always calling me and just plain and the it just hang up. STOP!

I just got one of these as well. (02) 8570 3242. Two rings and stopped, no message on answerphone. I subscribe to "Do not call" in Oz, which has significantly minimised the amount of junk calls / telemarketers I used to get, but they still allow charities to call you. Obviously overseas telemarketers are exempt or unregulated, but as they have an Oz number then they should also be banned. I will report to "Do not call".

This number just called me in Melbourne, automated voice said it was White Pages Directory and something like "to confirm the address for this number press 1".....I pressed 1 and it said "thanks for you participation" and hung up...  @holes!

Have been getting this same number for the past few days and always in the evenings during dinner time. Definitely a telemarketeer. Any unknown calls during this period, if I pick up, I will remain silent until the caller speaks first.

Majority of these telemarketeers call with their headsets turned off and they will only speak up once someone answers on the other line. If you remain silent for 5 - 10 secs and caller does not talk, just hang up.

I keep getting calls from some idiot from the other State of Sydney (02) 8570 3242 but when I go to get the phone it hungs up. When I Call Back the same number I get a message from the Telephone Company saying "I'm sorry but you call cannot be completed in this time". How can that be because I only heard just two rings on the other side, that is no right. I think that some Telemarketer from the country of India was able to obtain an Australian telephone number using Skype by using a false house address. This means that when someone living in Australia call back the number 02-8570-3242 they cannot connect with the Indian Telemarkete living in India because the Australian who received the call is being Blocked by the Iternet Telephone that the Indian has. Unlike the normal phone of the wall the Internet Telephone has a Feature to Block all Telephone Calls from other people who Dial back, so the Indian Telemarketer must have Click on the place where it says "Block All Incoming Calls". Those F***ing Indian Telemarketer likes to call other people using a Fake Australian phone number that he was able to obtain back in Indian but he/she does not like receiving call back for fear of getting Shot Death on the Head. Indians are the Scum of the Earth and the sooner those Muslims Terrorists of Pakistan kills all the Indians there will be not more Indian Telemarketer bothering others.

yeah the same F*** head called me bout 5mins ago I tried calling back but on the third ring it auto hangs up.... ever since I switched to Telstra home phone I've been getting calls from all sorts of cocky suckers, and I used to complain about Optus lol

The calls are coming from the Rural Fire Service Association. They are conducting fundraising to support the Rural Fire Service. Because they are a recognised charity organisation they are permitted to use your number even if you are on the Do Not Call Register.

There is another number associated with them which is (02) 8524 5956.

yep just got the call and as I answered it hung up this is on going every night...
