Caller: random investment company or scammer?

Call from (02) 8527 9930 an Indian woman asked for someone by name (first and last name). I said yes so I could find out what she was up to heh! She said she was from an investment company who work with other investment companies to offer investment plans and wanted to email me info about investments. I asked where she got my number and she said the company bought it from some other company who sells names/phone numbers. I asked when this could have happened and she said I must have bought something or invested somewhere and that company sold my info. Just great! Now it looks like banks and big investment companies like BT are selling our info to make money! So she asked again about emailing me investment info. Obviously it could be legitimate but more than likely a scam or some way to milk money from people. I told her I didn't need anything, my name wasn't the name she asked for and I only said that so I could find out what she was up to and report it online. So here it is ^_^
