It says NSWRFSA when I ring back. I.e. The rural fire service. It is fundraising.

It sounds awfully like a VoIP Internet phone prefix number to me. I have one with a similar number.

Is it possible to place a block on these calls here in Australia?

Has been calling several times a day for many weeks. Very annoying. No-one talks when I do answer.

If there was another digit in the number it would be from N Ireland. that is their code 028There are lots of call centres oner there , plenty of cheap labour

(02) 8524 5902 is a SYDNEY AUSTRALIA Number, not Ireland, this number has been calling Two, Three times a day for the past few months to my number in AUSTRALIA.The amount of times it rings, never leaves a message on the answering machine tells me its a telemarketer or some other j***-off.

this number rings me just when I sit down to feed the baby, and then doesnt bother to talk when I answer it. I don't have time for this crap.!!

It's just some call centre which regards people as a resource to extract money from. They've got a whole series of numbers which start with (02) 852459.. e.g. 32, 83, 68, 22, 77, 67, 98, 16, 48, 45, 33, 69, 02, all of which I've ignored and let the answering machine take the call. They never leave a message but call back later at an inconvenient time.
