I mistakenly started an application for an ABN on their website, then realised at the $95-fee page that it wasn't the right site (ABN is free). Have had calls at 7.30am,12.30pm, 3pm and 6.10pm, two calls in succession, each time, in two days. Have blocked the number, but they should be held to account...it's harassment, plain & simple.

I too mistakenly tried to apply for an ABN via this website, not realising that they are an agent, and when I reached the submission stage, it asked me to pay $99. that's when I realised that is not right, as ABN is for free, from the actual ABR.gov.au website. however whilst I was actually still in the process completing the form, I get a call from a lady saying that I just submitted a form for an ABN, and she wanted to go through the details with me to ensure they are correct. I was shocked, that they already had my details within minutes of completing the form. the annoying thing is that now they have all my personal details, and I cannot recall that info. Be careful!! don't get caught out with the website abnregistration.com.au!!

I actually was able to process an ABN application and Business name registration through them. made the process very easy for me. I received my certificate through my email within 5 working days. Definitely made my life easier. Don't know why everyone's thinking they're a scam.

I called back number (02) 8520 2075 spoke to a woman who said company name is Business Switch.

me too someone called me regarding the cancellation of my ABN
and he asked for my MasterCard details and said the cancellation cost $29, thanks God I did not give him.

I THOUGHT I was applying for an ABN... I stopped when they tried to charge me $99. I immediately got a call from Carlos, confirming all the details I filled out on the form (to seem more legit) and he said he will help me through the payment process for my ABN.

Because I'm not dumb, I looked up the number and sure enough, it was a scam.

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY

Same as all the above, got to a payment page and stoped. Got the phone call within 2 minutes of closing the web page.

I also added just about all my personal information before realising that something was not right. Now they have all my details......very bad scenario.

Caller: Scam artist about tax file number

Arrived from the UK and was told to apply for a tax file number, so I typed into google 'how to apply for a tax file number AUS' I clicked on the first link and started filling out the application form. 5 minutes later I receive a phone call on my UK number offering assistance with the process. The man on the phone said that he was ringing 'as part of standard practise' and that he needed to 'verify my details passport, visa and bank details'. I didn't feel comfortable and thought it was strange so I hung up and rang my Australian Auntie and she told me that it was free and showed me the correct website to obtain the tax file number. The website was www.ato.gov.au. Thankfully my gut instinct made me hang up otherwise I was about to be scammed and be charged $69 for the privilege.

They get you to fill out all the info for ABN registration and then charge you for it. I bailed out before the payment section but by that time they have collected the information from page 1. Soon after that they tried to call me and sent me an email which has come from a completely different address to the registration site.

I was lodging a business name application and received a phone call that promised to expedite the process. All went well until he asked for my credit card. I asked for a copy of what I was agreeing to and paying for. He balked. He argued. He pressured. I stood firm. He promised to email me something and call back within 30 mins. I haven’t heard anything - no email, no phone call. Be warned!
