I received a call from this number and the caller wanted me to donate to Royal Children's Hospital.

Said they were calling from Children's Hospital. Gave them my standard reply that I'm fully committed with charitable donations. Now I see from first comment they are a fundraising outfit. Which no doubt takes an enormous cut out of the donation. I will never give a donation based on a cold telephone call, but choose to make my donations direct to the charity concerned so that the full benefit will go to a deserving cause of my choice. Although the do not call register allows for charities to be exempt, I don't believe that fundraising organisations should claim to be the charity itself, and that full disclosure of commissions should be up front. Anyway, I don't give out my credit card number without verifying who I deal with.
