Caller: Claimed to be Telstra Told me IP had been made public and all my personal information was now public. Knew it was a scam but followed along until they tried to get me to go to a website "what's my IP". When I told them they were scum and preying on vulnerable people, a "manager" suddenly jumped on the line who told me to calm down, and then hung up when I told them to eff off

Caller: Claimed to be from Telstra She told me that Telstra had noted that our IP address had switched from Private to Public and I was at risk and I should secure it now. When I said that this was a scam she got angry and yelled that it was Telstra's duty to protect me! She asked why I thought it was a scam and I replied that it was obviously a Philippino call centre (there was a lot of background noise and lots of nasal American accents) but she assured me she was in Melbourne Australia. When I asked why she had a Sydney 02 number, she hung up on me. Idiots.

They called and said My IP is now public and my internet was not safe, said they worked for Telstra, I Said my service is with OPTUS..... long pause and then they got aggressive. I just put them on hold until they gave up.
I then called back using both numbers, they were both disconnected.

Took a few seconds for them to answer, then hung up. Interestingly, I've just been told my Facebook account has been replicated today too...coincidence or not. Blocked.

Answered against my better judgement. Sure enough, takes about 5 seconds for them to connect after I’ve answered. First contact from them is about 10 seconds after I’ve answered and it’s a bloke giggling while he says ‘a very good day to you’.
