Caller: Possible scammer

Received a text message from the number claiming to be HSBC Bank. I looked up HSBC Bank and this is not one of their phone numbers. Likely a scam.

Received text message claiming to be from HSBC with a "verification code", and to contact this 8318 number if you "didn't request this". Not an HSBC customer so I called the actual HSBC number on their website and they said that they do not recognise this number.

Received SMS from hsbc giving an authorisation code and told to call this number if I did not request it.

Received a text msg saying: “HSBC: Your verification code is 746627. Please don't share it with anyone. If you didn't request this, please contact us on (02) 8318 0307 MON-SUN 8am-9pm. “
I don’t have dealings with HSBC.

Caller: Possible Scammer

As per Anon, this was a message pretending to come from HSBC Alert, giving me a 6 digit code and asking me to call the above number "if I did not request this". I do not have such an account so I know it to be a fake message, and I have no reason to call the fake number. But it does look convincing.

I had the same experience and they tried to identify me and send other txt to my phone, then tried to grap my details, which is sacring for the bank safety.

Text message with verification code claiming to be from hsbc bank to call back on a number if it's not you.The number does not match HSBC bank.Mostly from a scammer.

Like previous poster for this number, SMS identified as HSBC with a verification code to use. Asked to contact them on (02) 8318 0307 if I "didn't request this". I certainly did not, do not bank with HSBC, and most certainly did not contact them. Sacm written all over this message. Scammers masking their scams with legit initial identity until you did further into their numbers. Do not fall for this rubbish.
