Is this a scam?

Caller: Supposedly PAYPAL

Confirming a purchase request for $299.39 on PayPal account (to cancel press 1 or call back on this number)? No purchase - checked PayPal account - no transaction.

Caller: Claimed to be from PayPal.

A woman with an Australian accent left a voice mail claiming to be from PayPal seeking verification of a suspicious transaction. I checked the linked credit card and there was no scheduled debit. Nor have I shopped online. I suspect a scam. If the person is from PayPal, then it all worked perfectly as whatever this sale was did not go through.

A prerecorded voice with a funny American accent said putting you through. Then just noisy music and no person at all. It's a rubbish call.

call was from someone claiming to be Pay Pal - definitely a scam as don't have Pay Pal account.

Automated robotic message asked for payment of an order I never made.

I don't believe Paypal calls its users. Don't believe it for a sec.
The robo-call left a message that says it's "Thank you for shopping with Paypal... etc, you have made a purchase request of $299.39 .."
Importantly... I didn't make any purchase of this amount.
Blocked.
Unfortunately, sometimes blocking doesn't even work as scammer may be spoofing numbers.

Left me a voice mail saying that it's Paypal letting me know that $299.39 is about to be charged to my account for my purchase. Asked me to call back on the number if I want to cancel it.

Paypal never call me to confirm a purchase!!

yes it's a scam, this number called me, didn't answer, automated voice message claiming to be from paypal to advise there is a charge of $299.39 and to either press 1 or call back this number. I've had this before. Last timeI contacted paypal directly and they advised it was not legitimate and requested I report it and provide them with the number. Paypal do not contact clients in this way.
