Missed a call from the above number, assuming it was for a customer bistro booking, I returned the call and found that it was a wine selling call centre for The Wine Group.

Called me on Tuesday from their Sydney office with a lengthy speil about a wine label I've never heard of. Didn't buy any because it was too pricey on just this young guy's recommendation.

Caller: The wine group (Oak Road) I've had 4 calls in the past 2 days from this mob.

This aggressive American owned brand now focuses on "premium" wines but they don't understand the Australian market which places value on the authenticity and provenance of their purchases. Oak Road simply say the wine comes from an Australian 'region' and they brand it as their own. Australian wine drinkers, if paying top dollar, want to know from which winemaker, established winery, region, soils, varietal blend etc. Now I only buy authentic wines enabling me to provide feedback to the winemaker when sharing with my wine connoisseur circle of friends.

Missed call from NSW. I rang back and it was Oak Road wine sales Camberwell using this NSW number range. Why?

I'm in Victoria. This NSW number has called several times this week. If they were friendly or if the call was important they would have left me messages.
