Claimed we were tax evaders & to call this number before the police came to cal!

Jason O'Connor claiming to be from ATO advising we are tax evaders and call before police come. Loser!!

Scammer for sure. Block and report it when you receive a call from this number.

Seems now they are using this number for a business, as internet web site builders and want details for an appointment. so they can come and see you to talk about building a website, didnt give me any examples to reference and hung up when i questioned them

My 95 year old mother received a call from this b*****d a few days ago threatening her with arrest for tax evasion.....be nice to meet up with him in a dark alley one night !!

Got the same message today as well, along with several others from the supposed Telstra Technical Department Uggggg, Phoned Telstra and they have blocked all the numbers I have been harassed by - also have an open file with them so I can add any others as they come. Report all the numbers and complain. Time the Government started to assist in this matter to shut the Bastards down!

Phoned this number back. Gave false name, tax file number and date of birth, but apparently they had all my details. After an audit found I had scammed the ato of $5,028, it was determined I did this deliberately and I had violated many laws (which did not exist). He also kept talking about the ATO Code - there is no ATO Code, it is the Income Tax Assessment Act. Said 45 mins after call, a sergeant from the local police station would serve the documents and if I did not pay up, I would be fined $65,000 or 5 years imprisonment. Unfortunately, for them, they called a Tax Agent. I know how the ATO work, I know the tax laws. I let him keep talking as the longer he spoke to me the fewer opportunities he had to scam someone who doesn't know. If someone rings you from the ATO with a strong Indian accent and very English name, probably a scam - the Indian people working for the ATO have Indian names. Also, Tax Office employees do not have badge numbers - they will leave a name and a number. Sometimes with their new call back system, they will leave a 1300 number and a four digit code to give them.

Agree. We got the same message afternoon of 31th March. It's a SCAM!

I keep getting the same thing. a**hole. Has an Asian accent, but Anglo name. Seriously do these idiots think people are that stupid?!!

The call is a pre-recorded message saying he is from the Australian Taxation Office and charging you with tax evasion and a police office will come around to your house to serve a writ. The caller then says to ring back the number of (02) 8310 8092 and ask for Jason O'Connor. THIS IS A SCAM. Be warned!
We have received several calls leaving this message on our answering machine over the last few weeks. I've looked on other websites and indeed it's a scam.
Just letting any suspecting victims know not to pay up.

Claimed I was tax evader & to call this number before police carried out an arrest.
Said I could pay an amount or face court.
Told them to send information and I would check with tax office to confirm their identity, phone went dead.

Claimed from tax office and that there was a warrant for our arrest for tax evasion and that a police office would be on our doorstep...... Still waiting
