Thanks for the heads up. Will try to block this number in future. Saw it was an 02 numbers and given I am in Victoria, I knew it was likely to be a telemarketer but answered anyway to stop the ringing. The was a suspicious pause and after several "hello...hellos" I knew it was one of those annoying automatic phone things that wait until they have a human (potential sucker) on the phone to sell to. I just hung up before being connected, Googled the number and found myself here.

I have had 5 calls from this number today and have not answered them and 3 now from (03) 8336 23633 , I do not know any one with these area codes.The (02) number just stopped ringing and the (03) number is ringing now( it is 6:54pm) SCAM

Hi, I had the same people from "compare energy" ring me too. To clear this up, they are aggressive marketers (mostly Indian) but are not scammers per se; they are just outsourced to local energy companies to ring around and get your bill details (electricity) whereby a local rep will ring you back to try to put you on to a "better" deal. They obviously get a commission for every person they get to switch to whatever company they find for you. I didn't get asked for any personal info outside of the meter number and billing quotes. I'm not saying, however, that I support being rung up without consent! I hope that helps ;)

Received a call from this number offering 20% discount on my energy bills. I advised that was not enough as I was already getting 20% and I wanted more than that. They advised they could not help me!!!! That was a quick phone call from a scam annoying conman company.
