Caller: Telstra scam call

They sent an SMS first, then tried to call an hour later on (02) 8290 0000. I had already confirmed from Telstra that it was a scam.

Requested Telstra call me through their app, they did, we got cut off and then I rang back, and received two calls from this number while on second call, so I’d safely assume it is Telstra.

I received a call from this number (02) 8900 0000, and it was legitimate. Foxtel on behalf of Telstra rang me to see if I wanted to resume my suspended Foxtel service or cancel it as I had suspended it during the covid period over one year ago. The Asian/Filipino lady was very clear and spoke good English. This wasn't a prank or scam call at all.

Possibly Telstra? I had talked to Telstra today. To a competent person in Hobart. Who finally sorted out the chaos caused by numerous other staff over weeks. I find if you say you’re reporting Telstra to Telecommunications Ombudsman, you get better response. But why would Telstra ring & leave no message? After reading comments here, I called this number. I got a recording. It sounded like a genuine Telstra recording. But even if it’s genuine, why are Telstra staff making what amount to nuisance calls? Since they leave no message to tell you where they’re from or what they want. Blocking number with note not to pick up, possibly Telstra, possibly a scam.

Caller: Claimed to be Telstra accounts and billing

Asked to speak to me by name. I happen to have two issues - one complaint re mobiles, and waiting a callback on installing NBN for a relative, neither accounts or billing. Would not give me a reference number. Asked to speak to a supervisor, initially said could not do that until we had gone through the process of looking at my íssue, second time I made the request was told as it was an outbound call couldn't transfer me, I could call 13 22 00 which is of course the Telstra customer service line, which is CLOSED at 7pm on a weeknight. I suspect a scam but am concerned it occurred the same day I called 13 2200

I was on the phone with Telstra lodging a complaint. The Telstra person was obviously out of her depth and didn't have a clue. The call dropped out but I think it didn't drop out rather that she just didn't know what to say. Next thing I get 2 calls in close succession but both only ring one time. I think it's her making a case that she tried to call me back.

While I cant 100% confirm this is Telstra, I also had them calling me on 028260000. If you doubt they are Telstra and have an account with them, ask them to confirm what the details are about. Also, ask them to SEND you the 6 digit pincode from them. That is a verification code that is used by Telstra and sent to your mobile on record. If you dont have a mobile service with them, ask them for a reference number so you can call them back on 132200. Even if they send the onetime pin verification. Simply ask if you can call them back and get the reference number. That pin will always come through from them, it wont be on a number but their name.

Claimed to be from Foxtel and that my number called them . They knew my first name but I haven't been with Foxtel for 10 years. Above comments claim Telstra but the message left on my phone said Foxtel. Dodgy.

Caller: telstra call back

I had a couple of calls back from telstra on this (02) 8290 0000 number. Including a voicemail message. They were reporting back on progress of a case they are investigating for me. I didn't answer it because I didn't recognise it but I will in the future. Not a scam.

It was a lady I spoke to earlier this evening at Telstra, confirming a booking I made for a technician to come out. 100% Telstra, not a scam.

Say it’s telstra, but I don’t believe. I spoke with Telstra earlier today and they said there is nothing wrong with my account at all. The number calling says there is an issue with my account. Don’t trust them.
