These people are not volunteers, they are paid sales people, raising (a small percentage of income) for a variety of volunteer organisations.
They do not respect DNC register. Collect / sell raffle tickets etc for a number of different (valuable community) organisations.
I wish the charitable organisations would STOP using these type of companies, as it is not good for their reputation.

I called back number (02) 8282 2277 reached voice mail for a company called acs volunteers association.

Scam.

It's from the Volunteer Fire Service, selling tickets to a raffle to raise money for fire fighting equipment etc. They email you the ticket numbers once you make a pledge of $$

They called me and knew my name and the fact that I am a volunteer at Vic SES. They asked for money for my volunteering association. When I told them I don't understand why they asked me to give money, they ended the call.
So, don't give them money! They are only thieves, not a volunteering association!
