For profit call centre pretending they actually work for the RFS.
Don't donate because once you do you will be on their call list forever & they will keep calling you every other week for years to come.

I get the same after telling them numerous times to take me off the list. They should be pleased to know that as a result of their tactics, I will never donate any money to them again as a result. The managers should ask why they don't get any repeat business

This number has been continuously calling my home number for the past 5 days. Sometime twice a day - morning, afternoon or night time.
Definitely persistent and annoying

So I answered the call and they hung up immediately. When I called back it went straight to a voice recording saying they were selling raffle tickets for RFSA- why hang up then?

There have been frequent calls from this number going back months and they sometimes call several times in a day. It comes up on a call log as I never answer calls from an unknown number anymore. Any charity that calls me will not receive a donation. I have a list of charities I support and think those who use call centres waste the donations.

NSW Rural Fire Service asking for money - has rung my number maybe twice a day for the last ten days - very irritating.

I too used to donate to RFS and other charities. In years gone by, I was always called by the same person and so built a relationship and a trust. Now it seems that many charities (and maybe not so kosher charities), are using call centres. I too am "over it". These call centres would obviously recoup "take" some portion of every donation. For genuine charities I am sorry but I will no longer contribute via a phone call. Caller ID means I don't answer a call that is not in my phone bank. Only genuine "new" callers leave a message, whereas call centres never do as far as I can tell.

Call centre - Constant calls. Leave answering machine to pick up calls. This number calls every day.Have had them ring before but have always told them I give to local RFS so I know who is getting the donation.

They are not doing themselves any favours with this. I used to be a big supporter or RFS, now I won't.

There are many large organisations who use third party people to get them money. The third party keeps 90 cents of the dollar. A nephew was doing this and showed me the breakdown.
