Has called me multiple times, long pause on answering, then tell me they can save me money on my gas bill. They keep calling with a different number popping up every time.

this number call on 01Mar22, again twice on 04Mar22, no sound when pick up the phone, very annoying, call few times in different date/different time mid-day, late afternoon after 5:47pm...most likely spam call, end the phone/blocked caller...

claiming to be AGL Gas, previously these people used a Melbourne no, they asking how much I pay for gas monthly, then are pushing to get my home address to send a new contract offer. But AGL already has my address as a customer, as they already mail me a invoice and they should already know how much I pay for gas each month. Looks like a scam, they pretend to be gas or electricity provider to get your attention. They could be working for competitor, or acting as a broker. But they are not from AGL.

Claims to be from AGL accounts and billing phishing for identity information. Caller is a woman with very good grasp of English. HANG UP or DO NOT ANSWER and BLOCK NUMBER. I have called AGL to confirm - they have NEVER called me!

Multiple missed calls today (21/4/2022), no message left.

Said they wanted to see if they could offer me a better deal.

Told them to put it in the mail.

How did they know my name and I used AGL. Didn’t give them any info about address.

If they are from AGL then they are breaching a "do not call" protocol. I didn't answer, left no message. My number is on a do not call register so I shouldn't be getting any marketing calls.

Extended silent pause after I answered, then launched into savings on rates that AGL would like to give me on my current account. She knew my name and address so I suspect she was actually from AGL or had access to AGL database.
The purpose of the call seemed to be to have me transfer electricity supply to AGL (without actually telling me that was the purpose of the call). I had to explicitly ask if that is why she was calling. When I said I was going to transfer over the phone and asked her to send in writing she pretty quickly ended the call.
Not sure it is an obvious scam. More a clumsy and borderline unethical campaign to have people transfer electricity accounts.
Poor form at best.

Came home and found this number had rung me three times at different intervals today. I just rang the number and found out it was AGL Sales Department. I let the customer service officer know in no uncertain terms just how very annoyed I was. This is not the first time I've had AGL do this. In 2020 and 2021 I had AGL try to contact me but both those times it was from a Melbourne number. I will be putting in a third complaint about them with the Do Not Call Register tomorrow.

The number (02) 8229 5801 called me today 23rd March three times at different intervals. I don't respond to any numbers not known to me and let them go straight through to my message bank instead. No message was left each time they called. Going by the 6 comments it looks like a dodgy call which I will continue to ignore should they ring again.
