Just received a call with a recorded message saying to call them back or I will get arrested. When I called them they confirmed that they are from the ATO, I then asked, how do I know that you're from the ATO department? They hung up.

A lawsuit against me and I will be arrested immediately if I was not to return the call

They said they were from the ATO and asked for me first and last name. When I asked why they needed to know that information, they quickly hung up. I tried to call them back several times, but they hung up on me.

Looks like a scam to me.

Apparently from the Australian taxation office. They said there’s a lawsuit being filed under my name and if I didn’t call back I’d be arrested. I called them back to have some Indian guy ask for my name(which is hard for others to say), so I tried to spell it out to him. To which he told me “say your name properly”, which made me mad and yell “this is how you spell my name!” He proceeded to hang up. I’m pretty sure they don’t treat people like this.
