I was given this number as the contact number for Do Not Call Registration. The contact person was an Indian and I believe he was trying to get me to say Yes to his questions to commit some sort of fraud.

Received phone call this am. On picking up there was recorded message threatening legal action.

Same as above, offering $39 device.
Very slick operation.

Call received to landline. Caller addressed me by my first AND last name. Indian Male (call centre background noise). Identified himself (when asked) as "Andrew Johnson".

Advised he was calling from a Government Organisation to provide a call blocking service. He also mentioned that the service had the backing of Telstra, Optus and the other major Telcos.

He was offering a 'device' to be installed on the phone line to block, report AND prosecute all unwanted calls at a "one off cost". Hard to understand specifics, but quoted prices of $39, $49 and $99, but later mentioned words of "initial subscription".

He was clearly keen to push the product. Did not fall victim, but feel compelled to report the hypocrisy of a nuisance call offering a device to block nuisance calls at a fee, especially when we are already on the (free service) Do Not Call List!

Same scam as Diane. The female caller (with Indian accent, and in a busy call centre), purported to be from the Government Do Not Call Registry, and was operating in conjunction with Telstra and Optus. Offered to put me on the Do Not Call Registry (I already am) to prevent unwanted calls. I asked for a call back number. I was quoted (02) 8091 5147. Needless to say, having seen your website, I did not call back.
