ATO scam call

Call from this number saying the tax office was taking me to court for tax evasion. They 'kindly' left me a number to ring to 'correct' this situation. Ha ha. I checked the prefix for the call back no. It was Egypt. New place for scams to originate!!

Left a message about being investigated. Returned the call and they answered as the investigation department of the taxation office, and then hung up. Tried calling them back again, no response.

Automated message about being investigated and sued for tax fraud. Asked me to call a different number for more details.

Call from anonymous number and an automated voice message saying a lawsuit has been filed under my name for fraud and to call (02) 8091 4306 for more details.

This number also called me just now and left a voicemail about law suit.

Phone recorded message left on my message bank to say they are filing a case for tax fraud. The investigation team team of the department is investigating me and my family for tax fraud. The department has tried to notify me and have not received a response. So the case is being treated as an intentional tax fraud. To get more message, call back on 2 80914306.

Received this call this morning saying that I am being sued for not lodging my tax return with ATO. DEFINITELY A SCAM. Have reported to ATO.

A robotic male voice saying that I've been reported for fraud, and a law suit has been filed against me and i must call this number back. This must be a scam, do not call this number back

Got a voicemail left by a Stephen Hawking machine-style voice saying they did not get a response from me for something and that I would be sued for fraud.

claims to be the ATO and when I called back, seems it may be ATO who say unless it is a letter or email...disregard.

Received a call from this number and as per the other user comment it was a voicemail but recorded off a computerised sound program. It is a scam trying to scare innocent people. These scammers needs to be caught and punished so they won't do any unnecessary mental health harm to vulnerable Aussies. If you one of them reading this, don't be threatened by these callers this call is a scam. Don't ring the number or the number in the voicemail, simply block, ignore and carry on with your life. Ta
