Hey everyone, I work for Insight will address some of the complaints I have seen here.
Insight is a genuine fundraising call centre for several charities.
We currently call on behalf of: PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Clubs), RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals), HRI (Heart Research Institute, KidzWish Foundation, Meals on Wheals NSW, The Asthma Foundation of Tasmania and the CCFA (Cervical Cancer Foundation of Australia).

A genuine fundraising call centre will be able to/must for legal reasons:
- provide a license number for the raffle
- provide the customer service line (ours is 1300 365 896)
- take you off the call list for that charity if asked for 6/12 months or forever
- take credit card details without the CCV security number on the back
- identify where they are calling from and their name (and job ID if asked)

If you do not want to give simply say "No thanks, I'm not interested"
If you do not want to be called for that charity simply say "can you please take me off the calling list"
If the agent is rude in any way ask to speak to a supervisor, but if they are busy take down their ID number and the customer service line.

If you hang up the call or don't pick up- the system puts the number in an answering machine loop and tries to call it again. We just sit on the computer waiting for a number to come up - they are randomly dialed from different databases. We are not sitting there trying to harass people by calling them multiple times- it annoys the callers too I assure you.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CHARITIES ARE EXEMPT FROM THE DNC REGISTER

There are obviously bad people from call centres (there are bad eggs everywhere), but I know most of the agents at Insight and they are really nice people who would not take advantage of anyone.

It's definitely a hard job but my supervisors are nice and supportive, they provide training if I need or want it. Many people quit because it is so hard and there is a lot of rejection and abuse that we tolerate. Some people can't handle the high targets which is fair, but the targets represent how much money the callers need to make for the charity to profit from the hr called.

There has been no sexual harassment of any sort and I have always been treated with respect. If I have a complaint they always take me seriously and address the issue. I get paid on time the correct amount and there have been no problems with my super. It's also a good job for travellers to make some money as a casual worker and they hire a lot so if you desperately need work it is easy to be employed - as long as you work hard.

I also know Simon, my desk is very close to his office and I have gotten to know him and his wife. They are both really nice to the agents/managers and I personally think that he is a great CEO. He takes the time out to make sure we are all working hard/doing our job, but also listens to what we have to say for improving the company and helps us with the calling.

He is fair when it comes to firing as well - I have had mates that have been fired and I got really mad but then looked at their calling rates or behaviour. They were doing badly for a long time, had many warnings and even got extra training before they were let go cos they just weren't good enough at the job and were costing the charities money. Some people are fired for acting inappropriately, being disrespectful on the phone/lying etc. The company simply just doesn't tolerate bad phone behaviour which is very fair.

With the donating - the money all goes to the charities bank account and then we bill them for our services eg. the prizes and calling costs. Ultimately, the charities would not use our service if were not making them a lot of money. They obviously need the funds and don't have the means for making that much on their own so they have used us for many years. We have made MILLIONS for the charities and we work hard because they are amazing causes.
Thanks for reading!

Do not under any circumstances work for this company. There is constant pressure on you to meet sales targets. The intimidation comes from team leaders who keep telling you how good someone else is doing. Good for them. I'm not them. I have work for this stinking company for only a short time and I regret the day I accepted the job. The owner of this company has the personality of a garden gnome and is just as icy. I hate this job so much after the second day on the job I starting looking for something else. I think that I would rather be on newstart than work there. If you ever get offered a job there say no you wont regret it the staff turnover is 80%. What does that tell you? The conditions are appalling. The rules and regulations are rigid, I think that Hitler wrote them. DONT WORK THERE EVER.

If you are looking for a job dont to this company. The pressure that you are put under to achieve sales targets is no worth the money they pay you. After being there for a few days I now realize what a mistake I made accepting the job. Shame on you insight you are nothing more than money grabbing parasites. If you want to support the companies they sell raffle tickets for donate to these charities instead. As for Martin Quinn you are the rudest self centered arrogant person I have meet in a long time karma will get you hard..

Simon Quinn and his band of thieves!
Targeting the elderly and duping them out of their hard earned savings, on the hour, every hour. Appalling behaviour like this really needs to be outlawed.
A family friend ( elderly and suffering from dementia ) was conned out of tens of thousands over a two year period.
Exploiting the elderly is so incredibly despicable and sadly, Insight appears to have it down to a science.

A sleezy organisation who obtained my phone number illegally. I have issued a warning not to phone again. However Insight are under the impression that they have some right to break the law. It seems that we have a new tactic of terrorism

Sure Insight is a Legit company. It is a 140 plus Telemarketing call centre that will spam everyone in Australia for the 8 Charities they telemarket for.
Management and Supervisors are bad, Let's face it, if you work in telemarketing you are meat to be discarded. It is a pure sales driven environment, and if you happen to spend a couple of hours in any given day not doing well, you will probably be sent off shift, because it is costing the company money. The history of Insight is rather shocking, from the multiple times it has gone into administration, to the systematic ripping off of employee's which is usually settled when the employee goes to court and gets a pay out and a non disclosure clause is added so no one else finds out they are currently being ripped off, till they look deep enough. They are not the only company that does this, they are part of a number of companies that have little business morals. If your a capable, honest, and a good person, who learn soon enough there is no future in the company and you quickly move on. If you ever wonder why telemarketing companies like this advertise all the time, it's that they will recruit 20 people a week, and 2 weeks later maybe 3 people still remain as the other 17 cannot stand the horrible working conditions and management.
Don't ever work there, and if you get a call from any charity say "Please remove me off your calling list for all your charities" ask who the company is. take note, because if they ever call again for that or any other charity you can take them to the telecommunication ombudsman and bust them for breaking regulations.

I used to work for Insight CFS for a number of years. It is a legitimate call centre that raises funds on behalf of several Australian Charities. Whenever someone mentioned they were on the Do Not Call Register, I passed their details onto the Supervisor to be taken off the list. What a lot of people don't realise is that the DNC list lasts for 3 years only, you have to keep re-registering to be removed.

I still get calls from this number and support when I can afford to do so. These charities do wonderful work and need all the help they can get. I also now help at the local animal shelter.

I have purchased tickets from $20 and upwards so you are not expected to purchase the '$1000 option' I have seen mentioned throughout. I always offered large amounts to low amounts giving customers the option to choose what was suitable for them. On occasion someone would actually purchase one of the larger amounts without being pressured.

The charity sets targets for the call centre to meet, so yes, we are expected to raise money. I've worked with a lot of people in this industry and some are suited for this work, others just aren't because it can be extremely hard work. I never pressured anyone to buy tickets from me, my sales were based on my personality. They either liked me and what I had to say (I was very passionate and knowledgeable about the charities I called for) or they just weren't interested. I know I am a better person for doing this kind of work as it changed someone's life or made a difference for an animal.

The conditions at Insight CFS were far better than another call centre I worked at (Contact Centres Australia - you were never paid for any equipment break downs, occasionally campaigns you were calling for). It was a constant battle with management when the payslips came through as they were always short, 75% of staff were always complaining they were short changed). That place was about pressure, you were constantly being listened to, or had to see the Operations Manager about your poor performance. CCA is worse and also were caught out for underpaying staff.

Just be aware that some staff that are no doubt complaining here may have been sacked for 'unacceptable behaviour' that could have potentially ruined the names of the charities they were meant to represent.

Simon Quinn is a f*cking devil... This prick actually went to the Christmas party dressed as Satan!!! What does that tell you? I worked there for quite a while and all I will say is sh*t rolls down hill, and at the top of the hill is Simon Quinn. Everyone does wat they have to to keep themselves employed and Quinn is the puppet master... Never have I met such an evil person in my life! He doesn't even pay you unless you are logged into the computer, meanwhile all team leaders just fill out a time sheet. This man should be in jail.

Two calls from Insight this week. After the first one on Wed I rang back and was assured my number would be removed from their database, now on Sat morning another one on behalf of a different charity. Any charity who calls me directly or through a firm like goes on my blacklist of charities I will never donate to.

This is sooo wrong and you should be ashamed of yourself for coming on here and presenting such false information. It says something about Insight that their workers know so little and are misinformed about the work they do. With Art unions as little 30% goes to the charity with smaller raffles it is 40% in NSW. Other states may be worse. IN Qld there are no required %. Simon Quinn was exposed on Channel 7 and caught out making false representations. Were you put up to saying such dishonest or ignorant statements?

I was previously employed by the highly immoral Insight CFS. Basically what the company is doing is cold calling elderly senile Australians and intimating/pressuring them to purchase raffle tickets via credit or debt card for a charity such as the PCYC or RSPCA etc, which cost $1000.00 dollars or less. I am embarrassed to admit that I once worked for Insight CFS, and I feel so dirty. Hangup, if Insight CFS call you.

I work for the company insight CFS, it is a legitimate company, they do fundraising for not for profits. Simon Quinn is the director.

The reason people get hung ups is because it takes a few seconds to connect the dialer, and we also get hung up on by supporters.

All the money you give goes directly to the charity, it is the law and you can go to government websites to find out more information. The charities then outsource their marketing to companies such as insight cfs and other fundraising companies because they are more efficient and cost the charities less. In an ideal world, everyone will be donating to charities without charities asking you for it but clearly that is not the case. If you would like to see how much of your money goes to actual programs charities run, you can go to the charities website. All the information should be publicly available to you.

Hello, I would like to help.

If you are receiving calls from (02) 8079 4700 Insight has been trying to contact you on behalf of one of our charity clients.

InsightCFS is a call centre that raises funds for several Australian Charities. Please be assured that calls from this number are legitimate and fundraising is done with the charities consent. All call lists used by InsightCFS are Privacy Compliant. As insight calls on behalf of Australian Charities call lists are not based of the "Do Not Call Register" as charities are exempt.

If you are receiving calls from Insight CFS, and you wish to be removed from our calling lists please call our customer service team on 1300 365 896 between 9am & 5pm Monday to Friday. When contacting us, please have handy any and all numbers you would like removed including mobile, work and personal numbers even if you have not yet received calls on this number. That way, we can ensure that you are not bothered in future.

Insight CFS is not the only company doing charity fundraising calling so if you receive any calls from other companies that you do not want to receive we recommend that you ask the telemarketer who called you to ask their supervisor to remove you from all of their calling lists.

We apologise for any inconvenience receiving telemarketing calls may cause you, and hope that you understand that telemarketing raffles provide a huge boost in funds for our charity clients.

Thankyou for reading through this message.

INSIGHT CFS IS THE LAST BUSINESS YOU WANT TO SUPPORT. THEY TREAT THEIR STAFF (MOSTLY YOUNG ADULTS) LIKE CRAP. THEY ENCOURAGE STAFF TO LIE ON THE PHONE ABOUT WHERE THEY ARE CALLING FROM, HOW MUCH GOES TO THE CHARITY (LESS THAN 4%) AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS ARE NOT SECURE. SO MUCH PRESSURE IS PLACED UPON THE AGENT TO MAKE RATE, THAT OFTEN HE/SHE WILL PUT MORE ON A CREDIT CARD THAN WHAT THE CUSTOMER AUTHORISED. TO KEEP THEIR JOB, SOME ALSO RESORT TO RINGING FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO SELL TICKETS TO MEET THEIR KPI. SOME TEAM LEADERS EMPLOY "BULLY TACTICS" AND USE INTIMIDATION IN ORDER TO COMPEL AGENTS TO SELL MORE. THE PLACE IS A SESS-POOL OF FAVOURITISM AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT. AS FOR YOUR NUMBER COMING OFF THE LIST IF ASKED, THIS IS JUST A "THROW OFF" LINE. GIVE $30 OR MORE TO ANY ONE OF THE CHARITIES INSIGHT REPRESENT VIA CREDIT CARD, AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR NUMBER ON A "GEO" LIST. THIS BASICALLY MEANS THAT YOU ARE A "SOFT TARGET", DO HAVE A CREDIT CARD, AND WILL GIVE TO ALL THE OTHER LISTS (CHARITIES) THAT THEY CALL FOR AND GOD HELP YOU IF YOU DONT PAY VIA CREDIT CARD AGAIN, AS THE AGENT (SOME) WILL USE REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY, MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE ABSOLUTE sh*t, AND COMPEL YOU TO BUY, BUY, AND BUY AGIN AND AGAIN. TELEMARKETING, FOR CHARITIES OR NOT, IS JUST A "LEGAL" FORM OF STALKING AND HARASSING!

Hey Crazy Ivan, I sure do hope that you never need any of the charity services that Insight represent mate. Sure, Telemarketers can be a pain in the 'butt', however, where would this country be without the RSPCA, PCYC, Kidswish Foundation, or any of the many other charities it represents. I bet you you were breastfed as a kid.....you boob cat.
