I got this number from a constant reminder on my laptop. and thought it was a part of a newly installed software called 'System Care' I was wrong, it was a "Driver Updater" when I clicked install, it informed me to pay for it, I didn't want to buy it, so I just tried to uninstall it, a popup then informed me I could get it for free if I rang this number (02) 8073 3403) which I did and they [sounded like they were from india] said I need to let them into my computer to get the free "Driver Updater", which I saw as a red flag and used 'System Care to check my computer and sure enough there were new infections and I don't really know if this protected me from everything they did but so far it seems OK.

They are running a scam. Anytime I hear an Indian voice over the phone I see that as a red flag.
