A simple text message would have served the purpose, rather than getting calls from automated systems asking us to press numbers.

Yep, it's TELSTRA. I called them back, they confirmed address and appointment. It's quite hard a scam would know this information. Even because no credit card or money has been asked.

They claim this is a Telstra automated dialing system for phone connection. 8 calls so far to my mobile. Wrong number, Wrong Name. Have blocked number. How can you tell a legitimate automated dialing number from a scammer? I do not reply.

I called back number (02) 8070 2247 and reached Telstra, they did automated call just to confirm my service appointment details which was no drama, as I was in the process of updating my phones at our business, even though I had already a text message to confirm.

It is not Telstra. It is an automated service from Go MasterCard to talk to you in regards to your account,

Definitely a Telstra service to confirm a new connection, they knew all my details about the connection and I had to confirm them. No confirmation = no connection
