Called by Commonwealth Bank Security team to inform me of credit card fraud that I had not even been aware of. I was very pleased that they had noticed the unusual activity.

Caller: Commonwealth Bank Fraud Security I received a messaged from commonwealth asking to verify a transaction in Burberry Ltd London..I live in Australia and was currently in the hospital to see my dad, so I replied no. It got me a bit worried so I checked my online banking app and noticed $400 was taken from this Burberry store in London. 5 minutes later I received a call and hesitated to answer so I searched the number and noticed who it was, straight away called them back and settled everything. They’ve now closed my card and I’m now waiting for a new one. These people are horrible stealing money, I hardly have anything in my account.

Caller: Scammers DO NOT PICK UP and engage with these scammers. Hang up and call CommBank immediately. They might sound convincing and even send you NetBank codes, but they are not legit. Call CommBank right away. If there truly is an issue, someone from the CommBank team can help you, but these folks are not interested in helping you and will try to get money from you if you stay on the phone with them.

Commonwealth Bank calling to stop fraudulent online transactions. Some of them were mine but some others weren't, pretty happy they picked it up even though they had to stop everything and reissue a new credit card, I would rather be safe about it

Caller: CommBank Fraud Prevention I was super skeptical when someone randomly called me and started asking for personal info to confirm my identity, but when I said I wasn't comfortable giving that info on an unsolicited call he instructed me to hang up and call CommBank myself and ask to be connected to Fraud Prevention (I used the number printed on my card, not the one he gave me, just in case). The call was completely legitimate as confirmed by an actual CommBank employee once I was connected. He even confirmed the time of the call and that it came from Fraud Prevention without my giving him that information.

Caller: Commonwealth Bank Security CBA initially texted me to see if I’d made a transaction with so and so, urging me to reply with either YES or NO. I replied NO, and this number promptly called. Had to search this number just in case it was phishing, but luckily it wasn’t and we blocked my debit card! Thanks CBA :)
