It's from the Commonwealth fraud area - we got a call and that person did not sound Australian so we declined to answer and checked with the ComBank to find out that this is their fraud detection area and that our card has been blocked. So if you get a call you should take it seriously.
Glad we rang back otherwise we could not have used our card and the amount would not have been paid to the respective recipient

I didn't answer it because i am overseas and it was the wee small hours of the morning and I was asleep. After I checked this site and saw who it might be, I immediately logged into my banking and email and I had already received an email from the bank asking me to verify whether a particular overseas transaction was genuine or not, (they listed all the details of a specific transaction). It was a US charge and I am NOT in the US and as they would be able to see from my statement I'm using ATMs with that card in a different foreign country. I am grateful they checked.

This is commonwealth bank calling to verify payments over my credit card. They had stopped my card due to multiple online transactions and were calling to confirm I was aware and to reinstate my card. I was online shopping 😝
