Claimed to be from Westpac and had a query about our home loan. They said they couldn’t hear me and would phone back. Never did.

Caller: Westpac Call from Westpac home loan team, when I was reluctant to provide details due to risk of scams, was understanding and immediately offered a 1800 number to call back myself - number matches Westpac's website.

calls me every day at least 3 times a day. I don't answer they leave a voicemail of 21 seconds each time with no one speaking and just background noise

Caller: Westpac Has been calling me 4-5 a day for weeks but I'm not able to answer my phone when I'm working. Claimed to be St.George Collections department. Called about a home loan that isn't mine. I in formed them that don't own a home and have been renting for 15yrs. I have called westpac and they have no idea why they are calling me.
Also the person on the phone was so rude and a little nasty.

If a legitimate Westpac call then they should know the person there calling not call you looking for someone else in regards to your home loan

Caller: St.George/Westpac Collections St.George Collections department, if this number is calling you you are in deep dodo, don't answer unless you want to be forced into an unfair payment arrangement that will leave you worse off in the long run.
