Just got a call from this number stating that people from overseas are trying to hack my computer and I will not be able to use my internet in the next 48 hours. I had told the lady named Alina Dolton
( she had a strong Indian accent...) that I do not own a computer or laptop and if something does happen to my internet I will call my internet provider I asked for her name id and asked her very directed questions. It seemed like she felt uncomfortable and stuttered a lot. Don’t even bother. They are definitely hackers.

I just had a call from this number. The women said she was calling from Telstra. She said her name was Suzanne Wilson, ID number D860072. She claimed there was suspicious overseas activity and she needed to help me stop hackers. After a discussion about the legitimacy of her call, she told me to get lost and hung up on me.

I'm very suspicious. Caller wanted me to access my computer and help me clear out
" junk files " which are attempting to hack into my computer I rang back and answer was
"Telstra technical department ". Nobody I spoke to has English as their native tongue.
I checked Telstra website for more information......THIS NUMBER IS DEFINITELY A SCAM...

Caller: Ellie Samartren

We got a phone call from an Indian woman who said her name was Ellie Samartren, and apparently she was from Telstra in Sydney NSW. The number she gave me were different to the two numbers displayed on our phone. During the call the number was listed as a "1". The number she gave over the phone was "(02) 8007 5157" and the number recorded on our caller id was "(07) 4348 3066". This woman claimed that there were hackers trying to access our internet and she needed access to the internet to fix it. When I told her Telstra doesn't do that, she said, "Oh yes we do." I told her no, they don't. That's not their policy. She proceeded to ignore me and continued babbling on, so I hung up on her. Prior to her talking to me, she told my elderly mother they were going to cut off out internet and landline. Then she changed her story when she got me. Not Telstra, just hang up on them and report them.

Indian man claiming he was a Telstra technician and wanted access to the computer for an internet settings issue. I asked for a number to call him back, was given (02) 8007 5157.
Telstra logs all calls in and out of accounts. we actually had a technician out to fix a fault that morning to fix a line fault. I was unable to tell if the call was legitimate, hence asked for the number. After calling it was confirmed by Telstra that it wasn't them. Telstra confirmed that they will NEVER call and ask for computer access unless initiated by the customer!

Just phoned from 'Telstra Technical Dept' about my internet which is going to be cut off if i didn't log into my computer. His name was Kevin Wilson (indian accent) employer ID768602 and said to ring (02) 8007 5157 to verify he was an employee. Initial lady was 'Elisa'. I hung up. Very persistent. Checked with my own technician because we only moved across from NBN in the last few weeks. 'Kevin' was getting agro when I started questioning him.

A woman said I need to switch on my computer immediately, and let her talk me through fixing an internet problem. I said she didn't sound like she was from Telstra and asked for her direct number so I could call her back. She give me (02) 8007 5157, I asked her to repeat it as the phone connection was terrible, and she sighed!. She said..'ask for June Miller' - I rang the number back, and a man answered - didn't sound like Telstra, and a very bad connection again, so I hung up.
