Said he could save me 50% of my Telstra costs. Wanted my bill number I refused

I received a call giving this number to call. The person claimed that they were from the reclaim department of the Australian Federal Government. I believe it was a prank call

Report it to Scamwatch. It's a scam. The more people on board, the better

Caller with strong Indian accent said he was from Bureau of Reclamation and had in excess of $5,000 to forward to me which was for accumulated bank charges that I should not have been charged.  In order to receive this money I had to give date of birth and name of bank then phone (02) 8007 3802 with a verification code.  I asked that details of the money owed be posted to me.  I was told that a letter had been posted to my address a week ago which I had not received.  I asked for letter to be sent again as I will not give details over the phone.  The response was - "we cannot resend letter, goodbye."

Said the bank owed me 5,000 + and they would send a cheque if I ring a number. No one answering that number. I would suggest it is a SCAM.

I had the same call 10minutes ago but rang and got through. I said I would pick up my $5200 bank cheque then I pay you your $199 for search fees. The address he told me is level 2 angel place 123 Pitt street Sydney Nsw 2000

Had the same this morning, $5248 owing to me for over charged bank fees, pay $199 for lawyers fees before receiving cheque

Says government owes me $5000 they want $200 from me to receive cash.
