Caller: Stefan Introduced himself as being from the bank of which I am a customer. Asked if I had authorized a payment of a large sum to a (named) person in Perth. Was very persistent and repeated that question several times and tried to keep me in conversation and obviously aimed to gain my confidence. He was quite ready to give me the number he was calling from, saying it was the bank's head office. The call was made early on a Saturday afternoon. I believe it to be a scam.

Caller: ,Bank Dept in Sydney - whatever that means......... Requested I verify my debit credit bank account 16 digit number or my card would be cancelled Requested to phone (02) 8006 9980. I phoned, for interest sake only, and was greeted by abuse to be told I should not be phoning that number but, rather - 0483 812 713.I terminated the call

"Dear user your Debit/credit card has been temporarily deactivated as you have not updated your details please call to update. (02) 8006 9980"
I believe it is a scam, as normally when my bank messages me, it automatically uses my name.
